Our Story
Why Mother Road Memories Exists
Mother Road Memories was founded on the belief that preservation should serve people—not just buildings.
The Golden Rule Building has stood since 1914, bearing witness to Galena’s growth, hardship, and resilience. Vacant for decades, it now faces renewed life through a Native-owned restoration effort led by Brian and Jamie Lorimer.
By restoring this building, we are:
-
Preserving a threatened historic asset
-
Supporting small businesses
-
Expanding Route 66 lodging options
-
Investing in an economically distressed community
Mother Road Memories is not about nostalgia alone—it’s about continuity.
